Rural Changemaker joins Hunar Ghar team

People working at Hunar Ghar have been key to the change that has come over the past 10 years in the remote marginalised village of Bakhel. They are also pivotal to the transformation we envision in similar settings across India. Rahul Dubey, a young and dynamic development professional, joined the Hunar Ghar team recently as Rural Changemaker and will be contributing to the ongoing initiatives. He will also be spearheading some new projects he has been passionate to work on, such as creating a bal panchayat – children’s local self-government body – that will work on real issues in and outside Hunar Ghar and setting up a really strong internship and volunteer programme at Hunar Ghar. Kotra Learning Festival 2017 organised by Kshamtalaya

Kotra Learning Festival 2017 was hosted at Hunar Ghar by one of our partner organisations, Kshamtalaya. It brought together a group of Kshamtalaya interns with children living in the area around Hunar Ghar. All involved flourished through the creative learning activities they participated in together. Child Learning Demonstration Day at Hunar Ghar

At Educate for Life, we believe that community members are an important part of school accountability system and should be able to provide their insight and advice on how to improve the school. Child Learning Demonstration Days at Hunar Ghar are one of the key processes that enable this as explained in detail in our Teacher’s Handbook. These are monthly events where children demonstrate what they have learnt in their classrooms in front of the whole community. Our Fundraising and Communications officer Shwetambera writes about her experience of attending the Child Learning Demonstration event conducted in October before Diwali holidays in school.
