Periodically, brilliant people come and do amazing things with us at Hunar Ghar. These people, whoever they are and whatever they do, we call interns.
We take interns at any time of year, for any period of time: We never know when the next Teddy, Rob or Becky is going to come along, so we are always open to the right person, doing the right thing at the right time.
It takes a very special sort of person to come out to work with us at Hunar Ghar. Over the years we’ve had a handful of such people who come and contributed in some incredibly meaningful ways. The list has included architects, sculptors, teachers and carpenters. It’s not what is done that matters though, but the spirit in which it is approached.
Interning with us is not something to be taken lightly. It can be incredibly physically and mentally challenging, and you need to be able to cope with that and, even it it all gets too much, stick at it anyway and meet your responsibilities. Interning with us is not a passive thing where you can come and ‘help’ without getting too involved. Although you are always surrounded by people it can feel isolating, physically and culturally.
If you think that this is something you’d like to do, please read through this section of the website quite carefully; it contains information that will give you a clearer idea of what you can expect from us, our expectations of you, and some of the challenges that you might face, as well as how to contact us if you to show your interest.
