Not the most flattering photo of Pinki ( she’s mid dance with some kids ), but nevertheless Pinki is ace. She lives in the next village along from our school and joined Hunar Ghar 2008. Very quickly she began to understand what we are trying to do at Hunar Ghar. She looks after the balwadi (kindergarten) children and is always found doing something fun, interesting and intelligent with the kids, which isn’t true of all our teachers.

Pinki is quite attached to Hunar Ghar, and we attached to her. As I write this, it isn’t sure that she will be able to stay with Hunar Ghar as she may have to move to follow her husbands work. This would be a great loss to Hunar Ghar.

Pinki is all the more remarkable considering she had her first child at 13 and now, age 26, helps run her brother’s shop and is a tailor, as well as working full time at Hunar Ghar.
