Freeing Deepak

Here is a sample of the responsibilities Deepak has at Hunar Ghar….

1) General manager- making sure staff turn up, work etc.

2) Planning lessons for 8 classes (110 kids) with the teachers.

3) Training teachers on Saturdays & organising external training.

4) Liaising with community and sorting out any issues they raise.

5) Supply teacher

6) Purchaser of firewood to cook with (more difficult than it sounds)

7) Purchaser of food

8 ) Purchaser of teaching materials for kids

9) The face of Educate for Life in India- networking with some of our friends in the country.

10) Accountant

11) Volunteer co-ordinator

12) Building work supervisor

13) Payment officer

I think a few things are apparent from this list (which, I should point out doesn’t include his responsibilities toward himself, his family or friends)…

1) He has more work than is humanly possible to do well.

2) He works ridiculously hard and needs support.

3) He’s good at taking on responsibilities but not delegating them.

4) Related to the above, perhaps the rest of the staff aren’t taking enough ownership of the project.

We’ve been trying incredibly hard to find people to support Deepak over the past few years, but up till now haven’t had much sustainable success. Over the coming weeks we’ll be working with two staff members who are already familiar to the area and our work- Preeti & Gopal.

Preeti is one of the teachers who we see a lot of potential in. She’s just had a baby, so it seems like a good opportunity to shift her role a little on her return. As she’s very organised and quite reliable we feel she could be in charge of account keeping, making sure all the rooms & kitchen are tidy and fully stocked, as well as helping with the teaching.

Gopal has been a staff member of RBKS for many years in the area, but due to a restructuring of some of RBKS’s projects is now available to shift over to us. We know that he’s capable and hard working, and Deepak already has a strong relationship and friendship with him as they worked together before Deepak joined Educate for Life- so hopefully the move will be positive. We’re hoping that he’s another who can take on a significant proportion of what Deepak does- purchasing food, wood, classroom materials etc. Going on home visits, helping support Deepak in managing the teachers, overseeing building work etc…

This means that hopefully Deepak, along with Ina and Ruhani who are joining over the coming weeks, will be freed up to focus their attention on the educational side of things- this is what Deepak’s good at and enjoys & it’s about time he gets to focus more fully on that.

many think at hunar ghar of waste on hunar ghar one idea came on my mind we can make one project with balvadi child we can make any picture to waste on paper . We shall use our waste cloth s, paper waste, plywood waste and shoes waste.

Nandlal ji and shantilal planing ;-

both planing is very similar we start disease project.

Shantilal give detail and nandlal ji give give detail to old child and for balvadi child only understand what is this disease. And roly play of dise ase.

Disease detail:-

we shall take this disease child know.

Ajit is not came this saturday. But I make bavasi project for ajit.

This week all teacher make caram to plywood. Caram make very good. We learn new hunar. Child cut ring of caram. This week I see good engary in shantilal. Make caram shanti did his planing very good. All child of hunar ghar is busy make his jeep and truck some balvadi childs not went home after lunch and make his toys and say me deepak we want plywood.some child want english book I give english book to interest child.

Baladi child incenive :-

in nandlal room we start one project animal speed. Whick animals go fast and whick animals go slow. Cild think and make picture.

Dal, bati and churma

we make dal bati and churma child eat. Child like and happy. But this day we were late. Some child say we are very hungery. We going at home for eat food. 1This day we eat 1 pm next time we make any think we shall start more early.

ajit our hunar ghar child make very good jeep. If any person ask me can first time you can make this type jeep I will give answer I can not make this type jeep in frist time. Ajit take his lot of incentive he make inside sit of jeep, he make driver sit, he make window of jeep, he make stand of 3 palace.did colour on jeep. For make window first did hole between wood and cut heksaw blade and make very beauitful window. When I see ajit jeep I give artist name to ajit. When I give name to ajit child say we shall make artish. We shall make very good think. We shall make jeep.2-3 child make group and automatic start work and say we shall make artish.

Child take lot of incentive for cut piywood make toys and did panting work.

In nandlal ji room child take incentive in tree matrix nandlal ji start mango tree. Child say mango tree use for food, shade, pickle juice, squces, decoration seed,

nandlal ji give one incentive to child if pain come when you speck. you make juice of mango leaf and drink you will find good condition.

In ajit room child know some rules of marrige but child interest came in make toys to wood. Ajit room child also make toys to wood.

In bhuvanesh room did some panting on wall. We make ganesh god and camel.

Two person die to hot water one is little girl may be she is 2-3 year old. When I want home visit. That time I see this girl. Then I did ready to his mother we want hospital. Some good health came but we were some late. And oter person did to hot weather. Villagers say he walk all day in sun light. Night time bad contion came and morning went hospital and at hospital he did. His name was virma.

World cup football at hunar ghar

me and ajit take one football,volleyball,and cricket bad. Steeping rope, ring for play. Child play all material. Child play cricket but football lot of child play. That time agriculture land no crop. Child play in agriculture field. Lot of run behind football.child take lot of enjoy at play time.

Account work:-

final account work his finished. All files went in audit work. I am not happy to account work. Lost of my time. Some voucher lost at jhadol. Make missing voucher. So my cash book header expencess and jhadol cash book header not came same. I am not happy to some jhadol ex pencess. So I not did signature. I say you do work of audit. When akshay and ed will come that time you will give information. I say to sharma ji this is your responsbilities give answer of jhadol expencess. When you will come that time we shall discuss.

Extra class :-

bhuvanesh and shantilal take 3 days extra classes. He take wednesday,thursday,friday that extra class.

Child incentive

nandlal ji ask to balvadi child where live pegion. Balvadi child give corrct answer pigeon live in well and near big stone and real this palace live pigeon. In this week nandlal ji give information of natural resources & vehicle. Vehicle roles.

Toys:

we start new game jigsaw. We have toys. We divided many part of toys & mixed many toys. Child, bhuria ram and shanti lal search different parts of toys. But one all person can not add and make full animals. After one day ajit, satish and some other child add and complete jigsaw game.Bhuria ram take his incentive during jigsaw game. He write number of different animals parts for add his part and make animals. We mixed 4 animals for jigsaw. Find elephat parts it was very hard for all. In shantilal room child make hunar ghar ticket. Child take his incentive different child take his differert incentive. Child give number,his design,picture all child take his different incentve.

Last day some child make toys to plywood child make toy of god ganeshji.

Finger alfabets

in red room start finger alfabets. One day I take class. I say to child today we shall do finger panting. I take all box of card and say to child you take one card and write on wall child take card and write on wall. Then I say this card you on flower and take new card and write on wall. That time child give some idea me. Some child write alfabets on hide palace, some child opposite on wall. One child not want make alfabets. He say deepak I will not make alfabets. I say ok what you want do. You can do . He make picture his home.

Fighting book:

Ajit ji give information to child village rules of fighting. That time I ask to child when you and your family member fight. Ajit give information to his think people fight when he drink,fight for woman, fight for argiculture land and other think. Child give his informations we fight when any child take (celling) my material, other child not use correct name, give abuse,accident time we fight( child give rcently example of kotda fighting.) one child vikaram say in my family my father and uncle fight for our parents jewellery. After this I write all idea on black board and I say to child can you write when you and your family fight. Some child write his idea. Some child see on black board and write his full information. Some child say me deepak I can not write I say you make picture of your idea and ask your friend how will write for you.

Planning of next week

ajit room

we make planning for ajit room. Give more information of village roles and marrige roles. We shall try if child give his opinion, his view we shall write his and and make one book rules of village with example.

Bhuvanesh room :-

start continue finger painting on wall. We shall make one counting chart.

Shanilal room:-

child give incentive he want make toys to woods, so start new project make toys to plywood.

Nandlal room

we shall make tree metries. This also one type game for balvadi child. In this game child take his incentive. Child will say tree use & find information of village and his local name very easly.
